About Salary Korea
Salary Korea is a free website that helps shift workers in Korea calculate their own monthly salary and compare it with their payslip. We are building it in several languages so that foreign workers who do not read Korean well can use it easily.
Why we made it
When your schedule changes every week — 2 crews 2 shifts, 4 crews 2 shifts, day/night rotation — overtime, night and holiday pay are hard to calculate by hand. Payslips in Korea are written only in Korean, so many foreign workers cannot even read the item names. There was no simple tool to check whether the numbers are right.
With Salary Korea, you choose your shift pattern and enter your hourly wage. We build your monthly schedule, split your hours into regular, overtime, night and holiday work, and estimate your pay. You can then compare the result with your payslip item by item.
Who runs it
Salary Korea is run by an independent developer who has worked shift jobs in Korean manufacturing. It started as an answer to a question coworkers asked every month: “Is my pay right this time?”
Our principles
- It is free. No sign-up needed.
- Your salary information never leaves your device. All calculations run in your browser.
- Our method is public. See How we calculate for the legal basis and assumptions.
- It is a reference tool. We never say your employer is “breaking the law”. If you see a difference, we suggest where to check.
How the site is funded
The site is funded by advertising (Google AdSense) and affiliate links. We do not place ads inside the calculator input or result boxes.
